Trace-Chemo Waste
Trace-Chemotherapy waste are materials which may have come into contact with or may contain only a residual amount of a chemotherapy agent. It is referred to as RCRA empty because it contains less than 3% of the original volume. Trace-Chemo waste includes empty chemo drug vials, syringes and needles, IV tubing and bags, contaminated gloves and gowns, and any other PPE used in the administration process. Trace-Chemo waste must be stored in rigid yellow containers.
Trace-Chemo waste must be incinerated.
